Welcome to my Web site!
My name is Charlie and my family and I own Chihuahuas.

I bought my first Chi from Malaga about three years ago.
His name is Paco and he is tiny; too tiny and although he is adorable
and my special little man, unfortunately he has birth defects from
excessive interbreeding. His teeth never developed properly and
his testicles never did appear! So no puppies from him. Of
course you don't know this when you see a cute bundle in a pet shop.

A year later my eldest daughter decided she wanted her
own little Chi; we met with a breeder who showed us a 7 week old male,
with pedigree papers, who was a blue with white socks and white on the
tip of his tail. We were delighted, so we paid a deposit and
waited the further weeks until he was ready to leave his mum.
Unfortunately we had been conned, the breeder "moved" taking our deposit
and when we did finally track her down she claimed she had never had a
blue for sale and couldn't refund the deposit! This is a common
case of fraud I have since found out.

Our hearts were broken, so my husband, in a spontaneous
moment, bought us a little white fluffy Chi from the local pet shop.
He was from Russia and we named him Oliver. Now poor Oliver was
decidedly put in his place by Paco, despite being bigger than Paco and
he took almost a year to house train (so nobody wanted him to sleep with
them!). But he turned out to have the most placid temper, friendly
with everyone and he is a real gem.

A year later and friend told us she knew someone who had
Chihuahuas and their female had puppies. Then one day she turned
up at the door with a beautiful little female Chi as a gift to us.
She had been homed once already but the small daughter of the family had
been a little rough so the puppy had taken to growling and snapping all
the time. Now anyone with young children knows you do not want
even the threat of harm to come to your babies, so the puppy was given
to my friend who in turn gave her to us. My youngest daughter
claimed her and named her Princess Tinkerbelle (Tinx).

This year we allowed Oliver and Tinx to mate. This
was a planned litter, with one puppy having a definite home (especially
if it was "anything like Oliver" we were told). My husband has
told me that we prepared more for this litter than we did for any of our
three children! All credit during the pregnancy and birth and
aftercare has to go to our local vets. They were fabulous and we
now have three lovely puppies born on 9 June 2006.

The male (aka The Dude) was born practically to order being almost a
replica of Oliver except for the brown markings - the prospective buyer
is delighted and visits every weekend to see her little boy grow.
The two females are lovely colours and although we have been tempted to
keep one of them. However, we have a lovely home for the dark
female (aka Twinkle Toes) and are looking for a home for the silvery
female (aka Bluebelle or Tiger Lily).
This is just a little web site for all my family and
friends to look at the recent piccies of the puppies, but I hope
everyone else enjoys it too! |
